The Greater Manchester Community Pharmacy Provider Board is recruiting three new roles, which have been agreed to support the implementation of community pharmacy advanced services across Greater Manchester.

  • 2 x Community Pharmacy PCN Engagement Lead  

    • £40,000 - £44,000 (37.5 hrs per week, Monday - Friday)

    • 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

    • Community Pharmacy Experience is required. Ideal for Dispenser or Technician.

    • Hybrid/Flexible working from home, with a requirement to attend Barlow House, M1 3DZ (occasionally).

    • Access to a car is required. Traveling throughout Greater Manchester and visiting different locations is key to this role. (Mileage will be reimbursed as per expenses policy).

  • Project Support Assistant

    • £22,000 - £24,000pa (37.5 hrs per week, Monday - Friday)

    • 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

    • Hybrid/Flexible working from home throughout Greater Manchester with a requirement to attend Barlow House, M1 3DZ (occasionally)

CPPE Workshop NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service (PCS): delivering high-quality consultations

GMHCA has arranged a workshop with CPPE to support the delivery of the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service. The workshop will cover initiation and contraception. 

After completing all aspects of this workshop, participants should be able to: 

  • Apply appropriate person-centered consultation skills to enable an effective medical history to be taken 

  • Explore the suitability of oral contraception for people who access the service in accordance with their individual needs and inline with the service specification and PGDs 

  • Discuss information and guidance regarding contraception options to allow the person to make an informed choice on an appropriate contraceptive for them 

  • Provide information on long-acting reversible contraceptives and discuss their advantages, side effects, and suitability for people using this service 

  • Support people to explore their concerns or side effects linked to contraception and be able to discuss alternative options.

Pharmacy First for Newly Qualified Pharmacists - Clinical Training Session Available to book now

CPGM, NHS GM, and GMHCA have arranged Pharmacy First clinical training to support newly qualified Pharmacists working in Greater Manchester and those taking the registration exam in November 2024.

The session, delivered by Allied Health Training, will provide a detailed understanding of the NHS Pharmacy First service, its objectives, and the role of community pharmacies. It will also cover the Clinical Screening of Patients, and, the Pathophysiology, Diagnosis, and Management of the seven clinical pathways.
 
The training is held face-to-face.

HLP Training Offer Extended

Fully Funded HLP Health Champion and Leadership Training Available for Greater Manchester Pharmacies

The enrolment deadline is extended to 31st October 2024

The Community Pharmacy Provider Board (CPPB) and LPN has secured funding for improving quality and support for Pharmacy teams across Greater Manchester. The funding was secured through the Workforce Collaborative through successful bids.

This funding has enabled the GM Healthcare Academy to offer fully funded places for HLP Leadership and Champion Training for Community Pharmacy teams in Greater Manchester.
