GP Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (GP CPCS)
GP CPCS is now live in GP practices across Greater Manchester. The CPCS provides the opportunity for community pharmacy to play a bigger role than ever within the urgent care system and aims to relieve pressure on the wider NHS by connecting patients with community pharmacy, which should be their first port of call and can deliver a swift, convenient and effective service to meet their needs for minor ailments or low acuity.
GMHCA have pulled together some recommended training for this service to help ensure all pharmacies are ready to receive referrals.
GMHCA GP CPCS WEBINAR
The Greater Manchester Healthcare Academy (GMHCA), CHL, Bolton LPC, and Greater Manchester LPC (GMLPC) recently hosted a series of webinars to provide support on accepting referrals, completing consultations efficiently and in line with local protocols, how to deal with escalations effectively and the sharing of best practice tips in relationship building.
A recording of the last session is now available to view on our YouTube channel. The session equips Community Pharmacy teams with support and guidance on how to successfully deal with patients being referred from general practice via GP CPCS.
